Ioannis Anagnostopoulos was born in Athens, Greece in 1975. He graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Technology, University of Patras, Greece (1998), and he received his PhD from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National Technical University of Athens, Greece (2004). He was with the University of the Aegean until 2010 serving as a lecturer. He currently serves as Professor in the University of Thessaly at the Department of Computer Science and Biomedical Informatics. His research interests include Web Information Management, Internet Technologies, Semantic Web Technologies, and Linked Data, as well as Online Social Network Analysis. He has more than 40 articles in international journals and more than 100 papers in international refereed conferences. Until today he has participated in more than 10 European and National funded Research Projects. He speaks English and French fluently.
Τα ερευνητικά του ενδιαφέροντα εστιάζονται στις Τεχνολογίες και Εφαρµογές του Διαδικτύου, στην Ευφυή Διαχείριση Δεδοµένων, στην Μηχανική Μάθηση, στις Επικοινωνίες Υπολογιστών, Δικτύων και Πολυµέσων, καθώς και σε ειδικότερα θέµατα Μοντελοποίησης και Διαλειτουργικότητας Υπολογιστικών Συστηµάτων. Από το 2004 διδάσκει σε Προπτυχιακά και Μεταπτυχιακά Προγράµµατα Σπουδών σε Πανεπιστήµια της Ελλάδας αναφορικά µε τα ανωτέρω ερευνητικά θέµατα, ενώ αριθµεί πάνω από 90 άρθρα σε διεθνή περιοδικά και σειρές βιβλίων και πάνω από 100 άρθρα σε πρακτικά διεθνών συνεδρίων. Παράλληλα, έχει επιµεληθεί σηµαντικό πλήθος ειδικών τευχών σε διεθνή περιοδικά (special issues) και ειδικές συνεδρίες σε διεθνή συνέδρια (special sessions) στα ανωτέρω αντικείµενα, ενώ έχει συµµετάσχει σε πάνω από 20 ευρωπαϊκά και εθνικά ερευνητικά/αναπτυξιακά προγράµµατα ως Επιστηµονικός Υπεύθυνος και Μέλος Οµάδων Εργασίας, ως Εκπρόσωπος/Εµπειρογνώµονας της Ελλάδας και της Γενικής Γραµµατείας Ερευνας και Τεχνολογίας, ενώ είναι Εκπρόσωπος του Πανεπιστηµίου Θεσσαλίας στον Οργανισµό Ανοιχτών Τεχνολογιών / ΕΕΛΛΑΚ.

George Petrakos is an Economist and a Professor at the Department of Planning and Regional Development, University of Thessaly. He has served a 4-years term as the Rector of the University of Thessaly, an academic institution that was established in 1984 and has succeeded to be ranked at the top 5% of institutions worldwide in a short period of time. He has also served as the Chairman of the Department of Planning and Regional Development (6 years), a member of the Research Council of the University (3 years) and as the Director of several Graduate Programs and the Laboratory for Regional Policy.
He has also served the Government of Greece for 2.5 years as the Secretary General for Investment and Development in the Ministry of Economy and Development. He has served as the President of the JESSICA and JEREMIE Investment Funds. In addition, he has served as the Vice-President of the European Regional Science Association (ERSA) and as a member of the Council of the Regional Science Association International (RSAI) for a 3-years term (2008-11).
He holds a Ph.D. degree in Economics from Arizona State University (USA) and has a strong research and publication record, which includes more than 25 books and edited volumes and about 200 articles in journals and books. He has a long experience in setting up and participating in European research networks and successfully implementing a large number of EU funded and highly competitive research programs.

Ο Κωνσταντίνος Αμπουντώλας είναι Αναπληρωτής Καθηγητής Συστημάτων Αυτόματου Ελέγχου στο Τμήμα Μηχανολόγων Μηχανικών (ΤΜΜ) του Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλίας και  Διευθυντής  του Εργαστηρίου Αυτόματου Ελέγχου και Αυτόνομων Συστημάτων. Έλαβε το Δίπλωμα του Μηχανικού Παραγωγής και Διοίκησης, το Μεταπτυχιακό Δίπλωμα Ειδίκευσης στην Επιχειρησιακή Έρευνα, και το Διδακτορικό Δίπλωμα, όλα από το Πολυτεχνείο Κρήτης, Χανιά, Ελλάδα. Πριν ενταχθεί στο ΤΜΜ, εργάστηκε ως Αναπληρωτής Καθηγητής (Senior Lecturer στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο) στη Σχολή Μηχανικών James Watt του Πανεπιστημίου της Γλασκώβης (2013-2019), Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο, όπου διετέλεσε και Αναπληρωτής Διευθυντής στο οικείο ερευνητικό Κέντρο Μεγάλων Δεδομένων (Urban Big Data Centre). Διετέλεσε διακεκριμένος ερευνητής στην Ομοσπονδιακή Πολυτεχνική Σχολή της Λωζάνης (EPFL, 2012-2013), Ελβετία, επισκέπτης ερευνητής στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Καλιφόρνιας, Μπέρκλεϋ, Καλιφόρνια (2011), και μεταδιδακτορικός ερευνητής στο Εθνικό Κέντρο Έρευνας και Τεχνολογικής Ανάπτυξης (ΙΠΤΗΛ/ΕΚΕΤΑ), Ελλάδα (2010). Ήταν επισκέπτης καθηγητής στο Ινστιτούτο Τεχνολογίας του Ισραήλ-Technion, Ισραήλ (2014), στο Πανεπιστήμιο Τεχνολογίας Τσάλμερς, Σουηδία (2016), και στο Ομοσπονδιακό Πανεπιστήμιο της Σάντα Καταρίνα, Φλοριανόπολη, Βραζιλία (2016; 2019). Τα ερευνητικά του ενδιαφέροντα περιλαμβάνουν αυτόματο έλεγχο και θεωρία βελτιστοποίησης και εφαρμογές σε συστήματα κυκλοφορίας και μεταφορών, δικτύων μεγάλης κλίμακας, και περεταίρω πεδία.
